Privacy Block Zones
:
Question
:
I'm a video chathost on iFriends, and a Star on the FanClubs.com platform. I understand how Privacy Block Zones work on iFriends and in FanClubs,
but I'm confused about how they work on iFriends
Groups
.
Answer
:
On IF Groups, privacy block zones operate at two different levels:
-
Group-specific
: The group owner may establish a privacy block zone specific to the group, which prevents any user who resides in the privacy block zone from joining the group and viewing any content within the group.
-
Content-specific
: If images or movies uploaded to a group are recognized as iFriends content
(through detection of an
18+ encrypted digital barcode
),
any privacy block zone associated with the iFriends VCH screenname is applied and respected.
Question
:
On iFriends, I'm CANADASUZY, and I have an iFriends Block Zone for that VCH Screenname that blocks anyone in the city of Montreal, Canada.
But when I post digital-camera photos of myself
to the MyPrivateWorld "Girls of Canada", I find that my roommate in Montreal can see those photos under his user account, contrary to my block zone.
What am I doing wrong?
Answer
:
If the digital photos that you are posting to the "Girls of Canada" group are directly from your digital camera,
they may lack the necessary "
18+
" iFriends markings that enable the iFriends
Groups platform to detect that Montreal-based users of Groups should be prevented from viewing
those images.
Remedy: When posting content to Groups, make sure that your content already contains the
iFriends
18+ embedded digital barcode
, through either of these methods:
-
Supply the IFriends URL for your archive or fanclub image (usually begins with a URL similar to 'http://archives.iFriends.net'); or
-
Upload from your PC archive files that you have previously downloaded from your iFriends archive collection or FanClub.
FanClub Vaults
:
Question
:
What are FanClub Vaults?
Answer
:
A FanClub Vault is a special category of MyPrivateWorld that relates specifically to the iFriends FanClub Platform located at
http://FanClubs.iFriends.net
.
Every video chathost "Star" on the iFriends FanClub platform
operates his or her own FanClub, where the Star posts material of interest to the Star's base of fans.
A FanClub "Vault" is a special area of the Star's fanclub where
both
the fan
and the Star can post material of mutual interest.
Question
:
How does a FanClub Vault differ from other MyPrivateWorld?
Answer
:
There are three primary differences:
-
Only active members of the Star's FanClub can join the Star's FanClub Vault.
-
The owner of a FanClub Vault cannot set the Membership Policy to "Public Restricted" or "Private". (A Fan should be presented with
no impediments or obstacles to joining the associated FanClub Vault of the Fanclub to which he belongs, other than the criteria that his
status as a registered fan be in good standing).
-
The owner of a FanClub Vault cannot set the "Directory Listing" attribute to "Unlisted". (all FanClub Vaults are publicly listed)

( )
Question
:
How are Group SuperFeatures different from MyPrivateWorld PowerFeatures?
Answer
:
Group Superfeatures offer enhanced access to preferred content located in a specific group. Site PowerFeatures, by contrast, represent enhanced access to advanced features
throughout the entire MyPrivateWorld platform.
Question
:
Who can access Group SuperFeatures?
Answer
:
If a group offers SuperFeatues, any MyPrivateWorld user can select the SuperFeature option when they join the group. Alternatively, the user may elect to upgrade to SuperFeature status later.
Question
:
Is there a charge for Group SuperFeatures?
Answer
:
Most group managers who offer Superfeatures elect to apply a small monthly fee, to compensate them for the time, energy and capital they expend in populating and maintaining the superfeature areas of their group
Question
:
Who collects the fee for Group SuperFeatures?
Answer
:
MyPrivateWorld customarily collects the fee from the member, at the point that the member designates or upgrades to SuperFeature status, and thereupon remits net proceeds to the group owner or manager.
Question
:
When does MyPrivateWorld remit net proceeds to the group owner or manager?
Answer
:
Net proceeds are immediately credited to the group owner's account, and monies are remitted to the group owner on a typically weekly basis, or on such other schedule as the group owner has designated in the group owner's
MyPrivateWorld Bank configuration.
Question
:
How are proceeds calculated and distributed to the group owner/manager?
Answer
:
If the group/owner manager is directly responsible for recruiting the customer to the MyPrivateWorld platform (which includes the iFriends platform), the group/owner receives 100% of proceeds. If MyPrivateWorld
itself is directly responsible for recruiting the customer to the MyPrivateWorld platform, then proceeds are split 50/50.
Question
:
If a user opts for Group SuperFeature access to Group A, will he also automatically have Group SuperFeature access to other groups?
Answer
:
No. Group SuperFeatures are available on a group-specific basis only.
Question
:
Do assistant managers get a share of Group SuperFeatures revenue?
Answer
:
This is a matter decided directly between the owner/manager of a group, and any assistant managers the group may engage. The MyPrivateWorld Bank remits payments only to group owner/managers.
Question
:
I am the sole owner/manager of a group that offers SuperFeature photo and movie albums. Where can I access activity and payment reports?
Answer
:
Visit the "Your Account" option in the MyPrivateWorld Bank.
Question
:
Must one be a registered chathost on iFriends to collect Group SuperFeature income?
Answer
:
No. However, if visual depictions of you are available on your group, via your webcam/instant-messenger, or elsewhere on groups, it is imperative that you supply valid documentation to
MyPrivateWorld proving that you are at least 18 years of age. To do so, you must obtain an "18+ ID Card" from MyPrivateWorld.
Question
:
I am a member of a group, and I elected the SuperFeatures option. How do I cancel?
Answer
:
To cancel your membership to any group, or access other preferences specific to a group, click the "My Groups" link at the top of the page.
IM Tipping For Entertainers
:
Question:
What are 'Entertainers' ?
Answer:
If you use the MyPrivateWorld Communication Center to configure the webcam instant messenger, you can identify yourself as using MyPrivateWorld Web Messenger for one of three purposes: 1.) Standard use; 2.) Dating applications, and 3.) Entertainment & Fun.
Question:
How do tips work ?
Answer:
In addition to the per minute charge that a viewer is paying to see you in their Instant Message session, they also have the option to tip you $5, $10, $15, or $20 dollars at a time. There is no limit to the number of times a
viewer can tip you in an IM session. One way to entice a viewer to tip you is to enable a privacy overlay when you begin your session and remove it when the viewer tips you.
Question:
What is a privacy overlay ?
Answer:
A privacy overlay is a screen that obscures the video display for the viewer. The screen has varying levels of transparency, which you control. When you select to use a privacy overlay the screen will appear over the window
that is displaying your video feed. This screen is seen by both the viewer and yourself. This allows you to see exactly what the viewer is seeing so you can best determine which overlay to use.
Question:
How can I use them to my benefit ?
Answer:
If you would like to increase your chance of receiving tips, you could begin by broadcasting your video with one of the overlays that is less transparent. When you receive a tip from the viewer, you can increase the transparency of the overlay
or remove it completely. Another option is to choose not to charge a per minute fee for your IM session and use the most restrictive overlay. When the viewer gives you a tip, you can remove the overlay for a specified amount of
time. You could show the overlay again, and continue to remove it while he tips you. The possibilities are endless, but the most important thing to remember is that you are in control.
Question:
How do I begin ?
Answer:
To begin broadcasting video, just click on the "Send Video" link in the video window. (See Example)
-
When you click the link, you will see a popup appear asking if you want to grant access to broadcast your video feed. Click the "Allow" button. (
See Example
)
-
Once you click allow, you should see your video feed in the window. At this point, you are broadcasting to the viewer. You may change the audio settings to disable or enable the broadcast of audio to the viewer (
See Example
). To view your video, the viewer must click on the "Receive video" link (
See Example
). After the user clicks the "Receive Video", he will be able to see your video (example
here
)
-
If the viewer wishes to broadcast his video to you, he will follow the same steps to broadcast as you did. You will need to click the "Receive Video" link to see his video.
Question:
How Do Privacy Overlays Work ?
Answer:
Now that you are broadcasting, you can begin to use the privacy overlays. The privacy overlays are controlled by a dropdown box in the options window. Note: the viewer has no such option on his side. (
See Example
)
-
Click the dropdown to select one of the privacy overlay options. The default option is Clear / Uncensored (no protective screen). (
See Example
)
-
You may choose from any of the five privacy options. (
) for a comparison.
-
When you select one of the privacy options, you will see exactly what the viewer sees. (

Question:
How Does The Tipping Process Work ?
Answer:
In the options window, you see a dropdown that will allow you to view the last 10 tips you have received in all your IM sessions. The viewer sees a tip jar dropdown where he can select an amount to tip you. (
example )
-
If you would like a viewer to tip you, the viewer will need to choose an amount from the tip jar and click the "TIP" button. (
example )
-
When the viewer tips you, he will see a thank you message to let him know you appreciate the tip. (
example )
-
You will know that a viewer has tipped you when a message appears in the chat window. The message will tell you how much the viewer has tipped you. (
example )
-
To view the detail of a specific tip, select it from the dropdown box (
1 |
2 ).
-
When you select a tip, you will see the date, time, amount, and name of the viewer that tipped you. (
